Finding Space to Expand the Kitchen

Our team transformed a cramped kitchen into a spacious, collaborative haven for cooking enthusiasts. The homeowner’s vision? A functional space where family members can cook and bake together seamlessly.

To achieve this, we embarked on a creative journey, repurposing both the first-floor bathroom and the exterior porch. By converting the full bathroom into a powder room, we reclaimed valuable space once occupied by a tub. Meanwhile, the exterior porch was seamlessly integrated into the kitchen, providing room for expansion and a new pantry. Kelsey Glenn, one of our Remodeling Designers, wouldn’t rest until she designed a kitchen that fit their needs, preferences and lifestyle.

Central to the design was accommodating their son’s culinary passion. We crafted a functional island with dining stools, perfect for both meal preparation and gathering. The kitchen’s aesthetic charm was elevated with open glass shelves, a white and brass-trimmed hood, and GE Cafe appliances. Custom touches, including a frosted glass ‘pantry’ Murphy door and stained glass accents, added personality and flair.
