Mullica Hill Basement Remodel

These homeowners in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, wanted to transform their outdated, closed-off basement into a welcoming entertainment haven. The original space felt dark and confined due to a drop ceiling and a dividing wall that separated the areas. The low ceiling and lack of cohesion between the spaces made the basement feel small and uninviting.

Creative Design Solutions

  • Melissa Firth and the Cipriani production team revitalized this New Jersey basement remodel by designing faux beams that accentuate the color of the new flooring. The faux beams, paired with a custom accent wall created from angled 2x4s, added a modern flair. Removing the dividing wall and making careful design choices brought much-needed light and flow.

Overcoming Challenges

  • Facing structural challenges in this Mullica Hill basement remodel, the team installed a tray ceiling over the seating area, highlighting the cozy corner and cleverly navigating constraints. Enhanced with crown molding and hidden rope lighting, the ceiling created a warm ambiance. A custom barn door was added, leading to extra storage and blending functionality with style.
