Kitchen Remodeling

This growing family needed an update on their entire home, so they renovated their kitchen, three bathrooms and garage. The challenge was keeping the homeowners from becoming overwhelmed with all the product and design selections. Our Remodeling Designer Melissa Firth was up for that challenge and designed a transitional style kitchen encompassing both beauty and functionality. Because she helped them with all their product selections, they were thrilled at the organization and ease of shopping. 

The kitchen was opened up by removing a bearing wall and installing a microlam header. Having adequate storage space was one the design challenges Melissa resolved this by installing cabinets such as a corner appliance cabinet, Lazy Susan corner cabinet, spice pull out, cookie sheet divider, double sided island, coffee bar and a drawer microwave. The custom range hood, double oven, apron sink and desk area provide both practical and interesting focal points.
By carefully listening to the homeowners, Melissa was able to incorporate important details like a footrest in the island where the husband sits to rest, and a custom-built wood gate for their dogs that match the wainscoting.
