Mt. Laurel, NJ – Halter Ct.
Anne van de Rijn had a lot of fun working with Denise and Kevin on this Mt. Laurel kitchen renovation. The couple was very engaged in this project and they really enjoyed the design process. In the beginning, they had differing opinions on style and color. But Anne is very patient and helpful, and with little communication, she was able to blend both of their styles to create a perfect kitchen for them. Denise is a fantastic cook, so the location of cooking supplies and function were very important. The old laminate counters were replaced with beautiful white marble look quartz, with a contrasting black granite island. Black granite was chosen for the island because it pulled in black from the bar area into the kitchen. The island was also important as a place for the kids to sit and do homework and chat while dinner was prepared. Every cabinet content was discussed as we laid out the kitchen plan. The bar area was done in distressed black which created a nice pop against the white cabinets. Anne also removed the soffits to allow for full-height cabinets and enlarged their island to give them the storage space they wanted. When everything was wrapped up they had a modern and functional kitchen with more storage than they were looking for. Every little detail turned out special in this kitchen.
