Look at this incredible space! This is the perfect room to watch sporting events or to host big holiday gatherings. For this project, we took what had been a small, existing family room and gave the homeowners what they have always dreamed of.
Top priority for this room was to create a dramatic space, and we began by framing a structure that included a voluminous cathedral ceiling. The rustic, wooden ridge beam coordinates perfectly with the new wood flooring. A unique window atop the window wall adds character (and additional light) to the new space.
The built-in bookcases added useful storage as well as a prominent display for family photos and mementos. The new fireplace is an interesting combination with its traditional mantle yet modern, stacked stone tile surrounding the fireplace.
While we were installing flooring in the new family room, we installed similar flooring in the primary bedroom.
