Kitchen Remodeling

Galloway, NJ

These homeowners came to us to update their kitchen which felt small and cramped. Our remedy was to remove the soffits so we could extend the cabinetry to the ceiling. And take out the boundary forming peninsula, in favor of a large island that everyone can gather around.

What stands out in the kitchen is the use of color. A bold wood hand scraped floor with red undertones beautifully complement the muted gray-green cabinets. A glaze treatment gives the cabinets more depth, especially in the beadboard profile that speaks to a Colonial aesthetic. Other period touches are the farmhouse sink and rubbed bronze fixtures.

The backsplash is made of Travertine, a natural material with many shades and tones. The subway tile pattern showcases this blend and really upgrades the overall feel of the room. Finally, the undercabinet lighting highlights the perimeter, making your eye travel around so the overall space feel larger.
