This townhome had a galley-style kitchen with full walls that closed it off. Our first step was to take out the load bearing wall between the kitchen and the family room and artfully integrate the support posts into the island. This created open views so that the chef of the house isn’t missing out on conversations.
The rectangular door and draw panels impart order and a touch of modernity that the homeowner desired. Pantry cabinets at each end of the cabinet run give symmetry and echo the posts in the island. Black lighting fixtures and décor add a punch of contrast to this bright white kitchen.
We added a beverage station with a wine fridge and hanging glass rack. The extra countertop space is ideal for making coffee in the morning and is practical for entertaining. The glass front doors and the lighted interior cabinet showcase the homeowner’s barware.
