Homeowners often ask themselves if they should hire an independent architect or a design-build team. So what are the differences between the two?

Architects are great and we collaborate with them sometimes, depending on the size of the project. But, often, when dealing directly with an architect, they will only produce a design for a client and usually won’t take into consideration the cost of the project until multiple bids are procured. At that point, the client needs to decide if that level of investment is doable or not. If it’s not, then it’s back to the drawing boards to redesign the entire project, which can be very disappointing and take additional time to do.

For a design-build team like ours, we combine interior design, architecture, and construction all under one roof to create one point of contact for your remodeling project. In the very beginning, we’ll have a conversation about the level of investment you’d like to stay within and design accordingly. And since our designers are well-versed in the costs of materials and different construction methods, they can advise you every step of the way.
