“Design is in my blood, literally. I eat, sleep, and breathe design for my clients. My passion is helping them turn a house into a home. For me, a home is where memories are built and should reflect the heart and soul of a family.”
Melissa has a rare point of view and a particular skill set having been raised in a home full of design talent. Her father, Howard Firth, is a multi-award winning interior designer in Sarasota, Florida. At an early age, Melissa could be found at his side playing junior design assistant – eager to soak up his passion and creativity for the design.
As a child, Melissa would attend art classes while all her friends were out playing sports. She took classes to learn drawing, drafting, painting, design and color theory. At the age of 12, she built a 3 dimensional home model out of foam board. Already beginning to follow in her father’s footsteps, the model won a local competition. Melissa continued this through her young adult years while obtaining her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Ringling College of Art and Design.
“I guess you could say that design is in my blood. My father is my inspiration and my only hope is to be as accomplished as he is.”
